headlinesOver the summer of 2014, I undertook a Nuffield Research placement at Liverpool John Moore’s University.  The project is based upon the ever rising threat of superbugs and their impact on society.

Each year the number of resistant bacteria increases and this has led to a strain on healthcare as traditional methods are becoming less effective. We do not want to return to a society where an infection or cut could be fatal.

In response to this my project aims to counteract this by finding alternative therapies in the form of natural foods.  Chives, Oyster mushrooms, Cherries and Vanilla were picked and tested on two bacteria’s, E.coli and S.aureus, the results of which can be found in my report.
